THANK GOD for my Mother

I drove down to Clinton, TN from Fairview Heights, IL to visit my Mother who is recovering from her 3rd bout with cancer. Bless her heart, she is 73 years old and has had breast, lung and now brain cancer. She has went through so much in the last 10 months. She has taken all the punishing treatments (i.e. chemotherapy, radiation twice) and they definitely have taken their toll on her body but THANK GOD, she is still with us. She had 30 days of chemo and radiation at the end of 2007 to treat her lung cancer. The treatment was successful and destroyed the cancer or at least broke the cells up. Her lungs have stayed clear. Her body was slowly recoverying when in June 08 she had a minor seizure while driving. Again, THANK GOD she was able to pull off the road safely and eventually drive herself to a hospital. She found out that the cancer had reappeared in her brain (probably those same cells from here lung that were broken up). The cancer appears to be in the early stage of development. The doctors said they think she has a chance to beat this cancer also because they have caught it so early. I love my Mother dearly. She is such an inspiration to me. She has an iron clad will to live and is such a strong determined woman. I THANK GOD that she is my Mother. Its true what they say, the earlier the cancer is found, the better chance you have of surviving the disease. Pay attention to your body and see the doctor as soon as possible if you see or feel any abnormalities. Early detection is the key!
